    Cape Jourimain Nature Centre

    The Cape Jourimain Nature Centre National Wildlife Area is an important wildlife habitat comprised of 675 hectares of land. Both human and natural history are addressed in the centre’s exhibits. Of interest to many visitors is the variety of birds – over 170 species- that congregate on the site at various times of the year. The centre is open from May until mid-October.

    Fredericton Centennial Park
    This park, dedicated to Canada's 100th birthday, can be found near many of Fredericton's attractions, including the Playhouse Theatre and Officer's Square. The large totem pole in the park was a present from the Coast Salish First Nations, celebrating New Brunswick joining the confederation in 1871.

    Fundy National Park

    This park consists of some of the last remaining wilderness in southeast New Brunswick. It has a golf course, tennis courts, a pool, flower gardens, and a motel, as well as an outdoor theatre and hiking trails throughout the park. The wilderness includes wetlands, forests (pine and fir), shoreline, and coastal highlands.

    de la Republique Provincial Park
    De la Republique Provincial Park is located near Edmundston in the Saint-Jacques area. Some of the features of this 44 hectare (108 acre) park are jogging and walking trails, volleyball courts, canteen, picnic sites, playground and boat launch. There is a fully-equipped campground with 150 tenting and trailer sites with shower and laundry facilities. De la Republique Provincial Park is open from May to September.

    Hillsborough Wetland Park
    Hillsborough Wetland Park is located on Main Street, a site of a former gypsum mill and adjacent marshlands. This has all been transformed into a 50 hectare (124 acre) wetland park with a 4 km (2.5mi) trail network.     The Grand Falls Gorge and Waterfalls are known as the largest waterfalls east of Niagara. The gorge stretches over 1.5 km (1 mi) and boasts cliff walls up to 70 m (230 ft) high. Take a guided tour of the falls by pontoon or on foot and learn how the gorge was slowly carved out over millions of years by the cascading waters of the St. John River.

    Petit Témis Interprovincial Linear Park
    Petit Témis Interprovincial Linear Park is the first biking path in Canada to link up two provinces: New Brunswick and Quebec. This 130 km (81 mi)cycling trail starts at Edmundston, New Brunswick and ends at Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec. Along the path lie such attractions as the New Brunswick Botanical Gardens, the Automobile Museum and the Edmundston marina. In the winter, the path is groomed for snowmobiling.

    Mactaquac Provincial Park

    This recreational gem is located 24 km (15 mi) west of Fredericton. Mactaquac’s many delights include a 300-site campground, nature trails, two beaches, marinas, a day use area and a splendid 18-hole golf course. Windsurfing, canoeing, picnicking and hiking are popular activities in the summer, while skating, cross country skiing and sleigh riding are favourites in the winter. Mactaquac Provincial Park is open year round.

    Odell Park and Odell Arboretum
    Once the estate of Jonathan Odell, who held the titles of physician, clergyman, poet and N.B.'s first Provincial Secretary, this 75 hectare (388 acre) park is comprised of fields and forests. The arboretum contains a rambling trail, deer pen, and almost every native tree species found in New Brunswick. Odell is popular with all ages, as there is a playground, picnic facilities, a duck pond and a visitor’s centre. The park is open from 7am to 11pm.
