    Doak Provincial Historic Site

    This 19th-century historic house once belonged to Squire Robert Doak, an early entrepreneur of the area. Life in the 1900s is recreated by costumed guides who maintain the house, stables and grounds. The house is complete with original architecture and furniture of the period. Guided tours are available from June to September.

    The Guard House
    Restored after having been destroyed by fire, the Guard House was once garrisoned by the 1st Battalion of the Rifle Brigade. Tours are available in both English and French in July and August. Concerts and storytellers are also hosted here.

    Minister's Island St. Andrews
    Located on the outskirts of St. Andrews, Minister's Island is a short drive at low tide across the ocean floor. Visit Covenhoven, the former summer home of Sir William Van Home, its surrounding bathhouse, windmill and livestock barn, all timelessly preserved. All tours are guided and take approximately two hours.

    An historic site dedicated to the Scottish settlers that established the first English-speaking settlements in the area. A replica of the first Presbyterian Church and an interpretive centre are two of its attractions.

    Former Kedgwick Railway Station
    The Former Kedgwick Railway Station was constructed in 1920 and was designated as a Provincial Historic Site in 1991. It was once the main station in town before the railroad closed in this area of New Brunswick.

    Carleton Martello Tower
    Carleton Martello Tower is located in western Saint John and was constructed as a watch tower in the War of 1812. However, the war was over by the time the tower was completed in 1815. It was used as a command post in WWII and is designated today as a Canadian National Historic Site.

    Charlotte County Court House and Gaol St. Andrews

    Designated as a Canadian historical site, the Charlotte County Court House and Gaol offers free tours of the former court house and old prison quarters. Visit the county archives in the reference center and browse in the gift shop.

    Queens County Historical Society and Museum Inc.

    Queens County Historical Society and Museum contains both the Tilley House, once the birthplace of Sir Leonard Tilley, and the Courthouse. Exhibits include Loyalist and Victorian furniture, the 1818 Tilley birth room, collections of Queens County art, Aboriginal artifacts, agricultural implements, military memorabilia, and glassware and ceramics. The Courthouse includes history, genealogy and special exhibits each season. Both are Provincial and National Historic Sites.

    Loyalist House

    Built in 1817, the Loyalist House is the oldest building in Saint John. Recognized as a National Historic Site, the Loyalist House is a museum which preserves early Loyalist life. Most of the house stands as it was in the early nineteenth century, complete with iron pressure cooker in the kitchen, piano-organ and original fireplaces. Tours are available June to November.

    Fort Hughes Military Blockhouse
    Fort Hughes Military Blockhouse is located in Sir Douglas Hazen Park and is a replica of the original Fort Hughes, named for the lieutenant-governor of Nova Scotia. It was built by British Soldiers to protect the early settlers during the American Revolutionary War.

    Officer's Square
    From this site the beating of many different drums has been heard over the centuries - from the military marches of the British Army in 1785 and the Canadian Army in 1883 to the present day rhythm of musicans performing at the Summer Music Series. Come see the changing of the guard and inspection ceremonies during July and August. Also in Officer's Square is the statue dedicated to Lord Beaverbrook, a publishing giant and lawyer who assisted the first Canadian born British Prime Minister.

    Fultz House Museum

    This museum is situated in the family home of one of Sackville's founding families, the Fultz's. The first Fultz came to Nova Scotia as early as 1750. The grounds have a blacksmith shop, wagons, a stagecoach and landscaped gardens. Inside the museum, visitors will find a plethora of artifacts from the 19th century, including clothing, documents, tools, household items and more. Enjoy frequent special events throughout the summer.

    McAdam Station

    Designated as a National Historic Site in 1990, the original Canadian Pacific Railway Station in McAdam was constructed in 1900 and further expanded in 1910. Its architectural style is a combination of Gothic, Baroque and Victorian styles and a majority of it was built from local granite deposits. Plans for the McAdam Restoration Commission to restore and reopen McAdam Station as a functioning facility are underway.

    Ecological Park of the Acadian Peninsula
    The Lameque Eco-park treats almost every aspects of the Acadian Peninsula's wildlife.     Boishebert National Historic Site of Canada and Wilson's Point
    The Boishebert National Historic Site of Canada and Wilson's Point make up the site where, under the leadership of Charles Deschamps de Boishébert, many Acadians found refuge when they first came to this land. It was first settled by the Mi'kmaq people and it shows the evolution of Acadian, Indian and Scottish peoples since that time. Guided tours are available to the island which includes an interpretation centre and cemetery.

    Grand Manan Whale and Seabird Research Station

    Grand Manan Whale and Seabird Research Station is a research and educational centre that promotes conservation and preservation of marine life.
